In addition to the academics, North Smyrna Elementary School supports and teaches the Smyrna School District Community Core Values. The core values are respect, responsibility, perseverance, integrity, and compassion. We strive to teach our students how to live ethical, principle-based lives.
Parents are an integral part of the learning process and provide the necessary link between the home and school. We encourage your participation in this role. We welcome you to join the North Smyrna Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) in support of this organization and to build a network with the entire North Smyrna “family”. Please feel free to come to have lunch with your child. If you would like to arrange a visit to your child’s class we ask that you call prior to your visit to make the necessary arrangements with the staff and that you sign in at the office upon your arrival to school.
Our handbook has been written to make you aware of the North Smyrna Elementary School’s guidelines and rules so that everyone has advance notice of our expectations. Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions. Our goal is to work as a team to encourage and develop pride in belonging to the North Smyrna Elementary School family. Each child will be provided a safe, friendly, and positive learning environment with numerous opportunities to grow physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
Please take the time to read this handbook as it establishes some of the policies, rules, and procedures for you and your child to follow during your stay at North. Board decisions and policies are available upon request from Central Office. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to call 653-8589.
I am looking forward to the new school year and hope it will be a good one for you!
Mrs. Stephanie Smeltzer
